New Kid on Lindsay Park roster

Former Champion Hong Kong galloper Super Kid will join fellow newcomer Wilander on the Lindsay Park roster this year.

Super Kid (Gaius – Pompeii Pride by Pompeii Court) was raced by prominent owner Mr. Wong Kwan and proved himself at the highest level in both Australia and Hong Kong from 1400m to 2400m.

Super Kid was named champion stayer of Hong Kong in 2004 and is only one of two horses to complete the Hong Kong Triple Crown of the Stewards Cup (1600m), Gold Cup (2000m) and Champions & Chater Cup (2400m).

Super Kid travelled to Australia in 2005 and contested the G1 Dubai Racing Club Cup and G1 Toorak Hcp at Caulfield.  He was beaten length into second spot in both races behind Lindsay Park’s resident sire Barely a Moment.

Mr. Wong Kwan is supporting Super Kid with a band of broodmares handpicked by his bloodstock team headed by well known agent Robert McAnulty.  The resultant progeny bred and owned by Mr. Wong Kwan will be raised at Lindsay Park Stud before being transferred to the David Hayes Racing Stables where they will be educated with a view of sending them to race in Hong Kong.

Mr. Wong Kwan will also make Super Kid available to outside breeders. Given his high class, toughness and good looks, he appeals as an ideal stallion to cater for the niche owner -breeder market and will be a worthy replacement for former Lindsay Park stallion Fraar has now been officially retired from stud duties.
