TBQA welcomed Mike Kelly and Ray Plant to its committee after the 2016 AGM.
Kelly is a former RQ Board member and has worked closely with TBQA in the past. He is a Public Accountant (FCPA) holding degrees in Accounting and Economics.
Mike has a very wide experience in the thoroughbred industry from bookmakers’ clerk to owner, breeder and 26 years in club administration. He was appointed Deputy Chair of the Racing Queensland Thoroughbred Board in May 2013.
Plant is a boilermaker by trade and a hobby breeder with a number of racehorses. Ray has been an active member of TBQA forwarding ideas and suggestions on various issues whenever we have asked for input.
They replace Gary Turkington and Mary Lee Trivett who did not seek re-election.
Gary has been one of the longest serving members on the TBQA committee volunteering for over 35 years while operating Wattle Brae Stud. Mary Lee, who was Treasurer for the past twelve months, is downsizing operations at Banchory Thoroughbreds and is spending time travelling to visit family.
