More Victorian winners from Vinery

A Mick Price double has helped Onemorenomore climb into the Top 5 on the second-season wins table this season.

The Vinery sire has been credited with the winners of 30 races after stablemates Strong Point and Explosive One saluted in Victoria last week.

His progeny earnings of $788,080 this season includes black-type prizemoney from his leading three year-olds Onemorezeta and Tonto.

Price found a suitable race for Strong Point at Stony Creek.  He appreciates the step-up to 1600m and ran down front-runner Peregrine to score convincingly.  They streeted the others by 7 lengths.

Explosive One chimed in with a first-up victory at Pakenham on Sunday.  “It was great to see her keep fighting to the line,” Price said.  “She was well ridden by Dale Smith and I was pleased with the effort over 1400m.  She has trotted and pulled up well after the win and I’m happy to head her to a mile now.”

Explosive One had won at Kilmore in September and Price did consider taking on black-type fillies in the Yellowglen Plate on Caulfield Cup day before sending her out for a spell.

Price has several options later this month over longer trips at Pakenham, Geelong and Ballarat.

The Darren Weir trained Cipher is another promising Onemorenomore in Victoria.  He is a son of G1 Thousand Guineas winner Serious Speed and overcame a slow start to win on debut at Geelong last month.

Onemorenomore has three yearlings catalogued for the VOBIS Gold Sale at Oaklands Junction starting this Sunday, April 19.  A colt from Dibella (Lot 60) is the first to parade and his dam is a Lonhro half-sister to G1 C F Orr Stakes winner Barkada.
