More kudos for Scandal Keeper

The kudos keeps coming for up-and-coming stallion Scandal Keeper (USA).

Yarradale Stud’s Danzig sire won the 2011-12 Sunspeed 2YO sires’ premiership and is poised to claim a black-type first at Flemington this Saturday.

His precocious sprinter Zamorar has been knocking on the door in the lead-up to the G3 Aurie’s Star Hcp (1200m) and trainer David Bourne hopes that consistency can translate into an overdue win down the straight-six at headquarters.  He will be ridden by Craig Newitt.

Zamorar (4g Scandal Keeper – Chloris by Scenic) is coming off placings in the LR Creswick Stakes, G3 Monash Stakes and G3 Bletchingly Stakes.  “He’s very consistent and sound and it’s testament to his honesty that he’s going so well,” Bourne said.  “He’s had a couple of rough gates lately which haven’t helped.”

Zamorar underlined his potential when he finished fourth in the G1 Coolmore Stud Stakes at Flemington last spring behind Sepoy, Foxwedge and Satin Shoes.

Scandal Keeper (USA) came within a short-neck and a long-head of notching a black-type victory when his filly Keeper Quiet was runner-up to top colt Luke’s Luck in the G2 Karrakatta Plate and G3 WA Sires’ Produce Stakes in March – April.

Scandal Keeper’s book is already full at Yarradale Stud this year.
