Millford update for Inglis Melbourne Sale

Millford Thoroughbreds received an international update for its Inglis Melbourne Premier consignment this week.

Millford principal Richard Kerry will offer a Bel Esprit half sister to last – start Turffontein winner Arcetri Pink at Oaklands next month.  Catalogued as Lot 233, the filly is from unraced mare Arcetri who is a half-sister to stakes winners Camena (G2 AJC Light Fingers Stks) and Jai’s Jump (LR STC Darby Munro Sakes).

Arcetri Pink (2f Rock of Gibraltar – Arcetri by Galileo)  was impressive on debut at Turffontein last week.  The Geoff Woodruff-trained filly took a 1000 metre dash by over a length.  The Australian-bred filly was a $45,000 purchase for Heritage Bloodstock from Millford at the 2012 Inglis Premier Sale.

Kerry likes the yearling half-sister every bit as much as Arcetri Pink.  “She’s a very similar filly,” he said.  “Well grown, good size and just as athletic as Arcetri Pink.”

Millford has 13 yearlings at Oaklands Junction including a Testa Rossa filly from a half sister to VRC Maribyrnong Plate winner Exceedingly Good (Lot 498).  Kerry describes her one of the choice lots in the draft.  “She is a cracker actually, a very compact precocious filly – a real two-year-old type and she’s typical of the strong black type family she comes from”

Lot 438 is a Bianconi half brother to Group 1 winner Cedarberg (BMW Stakes) with plenty of solid black type in the family – a “very neat well balanced type” according to Kerry.

Not A Single Doubt has 14 lots at the Melbourne Premier and they’ve received updates aplenty with G1 Blue Diamond Stakes winner Miracles of Life.  His Millford entrant is a filly out of Zabeel mare Marinov (Lot 732).  “A very athletic filly with great length – and she’s by a proven two-year-old stallion.”

Kerry is adamant the Starcraft – Slippery Madam ( Lot 74) could be the pick of the draft.  He’s the second foal from a half sister to G1 SAJC Derby winner Hard To Get.  “He’s a cracker – a big-framed colt, strong with plenty of scope and quality all over.  We’ve  had plenty of potential buyers look at him already”

Millford Thoroughbreds is based at Nagambie and its honour-roll includes G1 winners Pinker Pinker (Cox Plate) and Littorio (STC BMW & VRC Turnbull Stakes).
