Midday and Mum in foal to Frankel

Champion Juddmonte Farms mare Midday has been scanned in foal for a second time to Frankel.

Like Frankel, Midday (Oasis Dream) was trained by Sir Henry Cecil for Juddmonte’s Prince Khalid Abdullah and her claim to fame was a hat-trick of Group 1 victories the Nassau Stakes at Goodwood.

She was covered by Juddmonte’s all-conquering hero in February and her dam Midsummer (Kingmambo) was also among his first mares.  “It’s now six weeks since Midday was last covered and we are very happy,” Juddmonte’s Philip Mitchell said.  “With 16 Group 1 wins between the sire and the dam, we look forward to next year’s foal with great anticipation.”

Midday delivered her first foal – a colt by Galileo – in January.  Her Pivotal half-sister Hot Snap won the G3 Nell Gwyn Stakes at Newmarket on Wednesday.  The Cecil trained three year-old was an impressive winner on debut at Kempton in September.

Hot Snap firmed into $16 for the G1 English 1000 Guineas on May 6 after her two-length first-up victory in the traditional lead-up to the fillies classic.
