Mega buys at Perth Magic Millions

Bunbury based Daniel Love stole the limelight at the Perth Magic Millions Winter Sale on Sunday with 25 buys including the two top-priced foals by Blackfriars.

Topping proceedings was the Blackfriars – Idyllic Doll colt offered by Durham Lodge at $85,000.  Love outbid Colin Loxton who owns the colt’s three-quarter brothers Playing God and God Has Spoken.

Buying under his Mega Holdings banner, Love’s haul also included the second highest-priced Blackfriars – Stella Vision colt for $48,000.

Durham Lodge catalogued 33 weanlings and turnover for its draft reached $581,850.  “We’re very happy with the results,” Durham’s Jeremy Smith said.  “All the best trainers were here buying them.”

Overall trade on the day topped $980,000 at an average price of $5,733 which was up 129%.  The clearance rate improved 10 points to 87%.
