Makybe enters Diva’s half-brother for 2012 Easter Sale

Makybe Diva’s half-brother by Street Cry is the latest high-profile addition to the 2012 Inglis Easter yearling sale.  The colt will be offered by Tony Santic’s Makybe operation.

Inducted into Australia’s Racing Hall Of Fame, Makybe Diva is the highest stakes earner in Australasian racing history and her half-brother is sure to be one of the stars of the Newmarket sale ring next April.

“He is one of the nicest colts I have seen during our inspections around the studs,” Inglis bloodstock director Jonathan D’Arcy commented.  “He’s a more mature type than Tugela’s earlier foals and is sure to have plenty of admirers from both hemispheres”

Tugela has also produced G3 winner Valkyrie Diva and G2 winning stallion Musket.

Apart from the legendary Melbourne Cup mare, Makybe has built up a formidable reputation for producing world class horses such as Starspangledbanner.

“We are extremely excited with the entire draft marked down for Easter next year, but this colt is without doubt something extra special,” Santic said.  “The Diva gave us an amazing ride and, being such a good type, we are expecting big things from the Street Cry colt.”

News of his addition to the catalogue comes just days after it was announced So You Think’s brother would be catalogued for the 2012 Easter Sale.

The 2012 Inglis Easter yearling sale will be conducted on April 10 to 12 next year between the Golden Slipper and Australian Derby meetings.
