Magic Royal Ascot meeting for Trade Fair

Crack Trade Fair mare Moonstone Magic is likely to contest the G2 Windsor Forest Stakes at Royal Ascot on June 19.

Moonstone Magic (4m Trade Fair – Woodcock Moon by Kyllachy) resumed from a long spell with a G3 placing in the Athasi Stakes at the Curragh last week.  The Ralph Beckett trainee had been sidelined for almost a year after sustaining a pelvic injury in the 2012 English 1000 Guineas.

“I was delighted with the run,” Beckett said.  “It was gluey old ground and Pat (Smullen) nursed her to the line.  She’s come out of the race well.  Track conditions will govern our plans but the Windsor Forrest looks the race for her.”

Moonstone Magic was bred by Lady Marchwood and had won the G3 Fred Darling Stakes by four lengths at Newbury before going amiss in the 1000 Guineas.

It could be a Royal Ascot to remember for Trade Fair who stands at John Andrew’s Alwyn Park for a $4,950 (inc gst) service fee.  His brilliant Dubai Group 2 winner Trade Storm is scheduled to take on Animal Kingdom and a star-studded cast in the G1 Queen Anne Stakes.
