Magic Millions to conduct Capricornia Yearling Sale

Magic Millions has announced an agreement with the Central Queensland Thoroughbred Breeders Association (CQTBA) to conduct the 2011 Capricornia Yearling Sale.  Planned for April 2011, the sale will be held at the Rockhampton Showgrounds.

Magic Millions plans to offer 120 QTIS nominated yearlings.  They will be exclusively eligible for the Capricornia Classic Race Series held at Callaghan Park, and buyers will also have the added benefit of being able to pay up for the 2012 $5.05 million “Magic Millions Race Series”.

“Central Queensland is a significant thoroughbred growth area, particularly now the Rockhampton Jockey Club has entered into a partnership with Racing Queensland,” Magic Million managing director David Chester said.

“Magic Millions looks forward to taking the Capricornia Yearling Sale to a new level.  We will be promoting it nationally as part of the Magic Millions Australian Sale Series.  Our strategy is to develop it into a showcase event.”

Australian Estates Company Limited began selling yearlings at Rockhampton in the 1970s.  Magic Millions comes on board after Ken McCaffrey’s Australian Livestock Marketing terminated its involvement last year.

Entry forms for the 2011 Capricornia Yearling Sale will be available in October.
