Magic mark for Yarraman Park

Yarraman Park sire Magic Albert cracked the 100 winner mark in Australia this season thanks to comeback galloper Master Harry.

Master Harry returned to racing after covering just 7 mares at Wattle Grove Stud in NSW last year.  He was originally trained by Peter Moody for a G2 victory in the Royal Sovereign Stakes (1200m) at Randwick.

Now under the care of Ron Quinton, the rising six year-old raced up on the pace to win a Benchmark 95 sprint over 1100 metres by half a length.

Master Harry’s dam Sri Lanka (Sri Pekan) is due to foal again to Magic Albert this spring.

It’s the third year in a row Magic Albert has sired 100 plus winners and his progeny earnings for this season have just topped $3 million.  There have been another 7 off-shore winners – Marchinski & Bundle of Joy (HK), All’s Fair & Orbity (NZ), Good Good Luck & Little Rainforest (Malaysia) and Vang’s Girl (Philippines).

Kiwi filly Orbity completed a winning hat-trick at Te Awamutu on Saturday.  The Murray Baker trained three year-old will be set for the LR Ryder Stakes at Otaki on July 27.

Magic Albert (Zeditave) is an outcross sire that works being completely free of Northern Dancer, Mr Prospector and Star Kingdom blood.  His overall record stands at 314 winners at a 67% strike-rate topped by G1 winners Albert The Fat, Magic Cape.and Ilovethiscity.

Yarraman Park stands Magic Albert for a $19,250 (inc gst) fee.
