Magic Albert flies flag for Yarraman Park

Magic Albert is the flag-bearer on Yarraman Park’s roster for 2012.  His yearlings averaged $118,125 at the Magic Millions earlier this year which has prompted an increase to $22,000 for his services.

He has covered big books of 150 plus mares in the past two seasons at $13,750 and $16,500.

“Magic Albert has had another sensational year on the track and in the sale ring and we already have substantial bookings to him from some of the most successful breeders in the business,” Yarraman’s Harry Mitchell said.

“The increase in fee will hopefully attract some better quality mares and we would be happy to cut his numbers back a bit this year from the 162 he covered last spring.”

Magic Albert (Zeditave) has sired the winners of more than $18 million in prizemoney including 15 stakes-winners – four of them the Group I winners – Albert the Fat, Ilovethiscity, Magic Cape and Fighting Warrior.

He sired over 100 Australian winners last season and already has over 80 for this season including five stakes-winners in Albert the Fat, Straight Albert, Ron’s Call, Isopach and Tai Tai Tess.

I Am Invincible and Hinchinbrook will remain at the same fee as last year.  “There is very strong word of mouth for I Am Invincible, whose first foals have impressed a lot of breeders,” Mitchell said.  “And we are looking forward to seeing the first foals for Hinchinbrook.

“Hinchinbrook covered an excellent debut book last spring and included the dams of current stakes-winners Soft Sand and Jade Marauder plus Singapore champion Better Than Ever.  He’s had every opportunity.”
