Macau Horse of the Year in Control

Quality Macau galloper Good Control increased his strike rate to 11 wins in just 18 starts with a Group 3 victory in the Summer Trophy (1050m) on Saturday.

Good Control (3g Fasliyev-Change of Control by Marauding) is Macau’s reigning Horse of the Year and the Summer Trophy made it two wins from as many starts since returning from a Dubai campaign.

Trainer Patrick Lee bought the gelding for $25,000 from the draft of Jonel Park at the 2007 Magic Millions National yearling sale.  He has since earned the equivalent of AUD 525,000.

Good Control is a son of former Coolmore shuttler Fasliyev and his dam Change of Control is a daughter of the Tranquil Star Stakes winner Majestic Dawn.  His extended family includes Western Australian Oaks winners India’s Dream and Hasty Departure.

Change of Control has a 2yo colt by Oratorio (Ire), a yearling filly by Ferocity and a weanling colt by Chateau Istana.
