Victorian based Larneuk Stud has discounted this year’s service fees for its stallions Ilovethiscity and O’Lonhro.
Ilovethiscity (Magic Albert) was a Group 1 winner of the Randwick Guineas and covered 43 mares in his first book last year at an $8,800 (inc gst) fee. That has been reduced to $6,600.
O’Lonhro (Lonhro) is gearing up for his fourth season at Larneuk. He was a Group 2 winner of the Chelmsford Stakes – just like his own sire who captured the same race in 2002 and 2003.
His first yearlings averaged $22,000 at the Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale in March. Top of the dial was the colt from Bent Zena (Rancho Ruler) purchased by a Singapore buyer for $54,000.
O’Lonhro covered 80 mares at a $6,600 fee last year and that has been discounted to $5,500. “The last few years have not been easy for Victorian breeders,” studmaster Nev Murdoch said. “But there are already signs things are picking up and standing our stallions at lesser fees will really help people out.”
Bramshaw (Encosta de Lago) fills out the Larneuk roster at $2,200 (inc gst).
Hong Kong G2 winner One World (Danehill Dancer) joined Ilovethiscity at the Euroa property last year but he was found to be infertile.
