Kia Ora Stud has joined Vinery in the ownership of former Patinack Farm colt All Too Hard.
Kia Ora Stud, located directly across the Pages River from Vinery in the Segenhoe Valley, is one of the most historic farms in Australia. Established in 1914, Kia Ora has produced many great racehorses including seven Melbourne Cup winners and nine VRC Derby winners.
In recent years under the ownership of Ananda Krishnan, the Stud has been completely redeveloped and reinvigorated with state of the art facilities, re-established pastures and first-class management. The operation has continued the fine tradition of producing strong, sound horses with Group 1 winners the calibre of Champion South African mare Igugu and Darley’s leading shuttler Exceed And Excel.
“We look forward to Kia Ora sharing the excitement of All Too Hard’s racing career and his future at stud,” Vinery’s Peter Orton said. “Kia Ora is a strong supporter of Vinery and a great contributor to the industry and to the local community.”
All Too Hard (Casino Prince) is a three year-old half-brother to champion mare Black Caviar and was a seven-figure yearling buy for Nathan Tinkler’s Patinack operation at the 2011 Inglis Easter yearling sale. He won the G1 Caulfield Guineas in October and was last seen finishing second in the G1 Cox Plate.
