Patrick and Janine Buckless picked up a bargain when they paid $900 for Snippets mare Pin Up Doll at the 2004 Magic Millions Perth Winter Sale.

Pin Up Doll was a 13 year-old mare at the time and she was being culled by Mungrup Stud in foal the Eternity Range.  The mare had originally been purchased by Mungrup’s Gray Williamson for $20,000 from Coolmore (as agent) at the 2000 Inglis Easter Broodmare Sale.

The foal she was carrying by Eternity Range turned out to be Sunrange and he scored a career-high win in the Listed Kalgoorlie Cup on Saturday.  The gelding has now won $240,000 under the guidance of Lark Hill trainer Helen Starley.

Pin Up Doll died without producing another foal after Sunrange.  Her earlier winners included Hey Pretty Momma (King Of Kings) who is the dam of Adrian Knox Stakes placegetter Hey Pretty Katies.

Eternity Range (Majestic Light) originally stood in Queensland before transferring to Mungrup.  He is now based with Don Hammarquist who already has a winning link with the Great Southern nursery.  Hammarquist owns and trains this year’s G2 Karrakatta Plate winner Motion Pictures who is by Mungrup sire Oratorio (Aus).
