Invest blooms in Doomben Roses

Dehere filly Invest continued her late-season charge with a G3 victory in the Doomben Roses (2000m) on Saturday.  The Newhaven Park owned filly was coming off a G1 victory in the South Australian Oaks last month.

Trainer Clarry Conners has Invest on course for the G1 Queensland Oaks on June 2 after she powered home to defeat NZ Oaks winner (Miss) Artistic and Gold Coast Bracelet winner Scorpio Queen.

“It was a courageous win and she’s blooming up here in Brisbane,” Conners said after the Roses.  “We’ve always thought she would stay and that will top her right off for the Queensland Oaks.”

Invest (3f Dehere – Unearthly by Zabeel) was bred by Fairway Thoroughbreds and sold for $450,000 at the 2010 Inglis Easter yearling sale.  Her dam Unearthly was a G1 winner of the AJC Flight Stakes for Fairway owner John Camilleri.

Unearthly’s first foal Jacaranda Terrace (Redoute’s Choice) has won two races up to 1600m in Japan.  The mare’s two year-old is an unraced Redoute’s Choice colt named Illinois.  He is on the books with Joe Pride at Warwick Farm.
