Inspections underway for Magic Millions QTIS Sale

Inspections are underway as the Gold Coast prepares for the 2013 Magic Millions QTIS Yearling Sale starting on Sunday.

After receiving record entries, the catalogue was trimmed to 450 lots for the two day auction.

With all yearlings eligible for the rich $5.85 million Magic Millions race series as well as $8 million in QTIS bonuses, the sale is the auction of choice for many Queensland owners and trainers.

The quality of the auction rising every year and it’s quickly establishing itself as one of the best performing in the country and is a must for all buyers from around Australia and overseas.

The QTIS Yearling Sale is second only to January’s Gold Coast Sale as Australia’s best auction for two-year-old winners this season.  Four of the first five horses over the line in the $2 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic were bred in Queensland.

The winner Real Surreal is by Australia’s leading first crop sire Real Saga – the most represented sire in this week’s sale with 37 youngsters catalogued.

And only last Saturday, Queensland bred campaigner Shoot Out resumed from a spell for a Group 1 victory in the Chipping Norton Stakes.

Trainers and bloodstock agents have begun inspections ahead of Sunday and Monday’s sale and early feedback is positive.  “For whatever reason, very few southern state buyers come to this sale – it’s Queensland’s best kept secret,” Magic Millions Managing Director Vin Cox said.

“They are racehorses that are not only qualified for the Magic Millions race series, but also QTIS and many others are eligible for the southern state bonuses.  At the end of the day, everyone wants a winner and that’s what you’ll get out of this sale.”
