The Inglis Great Southern Sale catalogue from June 21 to 24 at Oaklands Junction is now online.
There are 724 lots over four sessions including 354 weanlings, 264 broodmares and over 100 racehorses and yearlings.
The weanling section, which kicks off the Sale at 10.30am on Sunday June 21, comprises 259 lots in the Platinum Session. “By offering the Platinum Weanling Session for the first time at the Great Southern Sale consisting only of weanlings with X-Rays, we are able to ensure buyers can bid with added confidence,” Victorian bloodstock director Peter Heagney said.
Many weanlings are out of stakes-winning mares or are relations to stakes-winners, as was Group 1 winner Mongolian Khan when he was sold at the 2012 Inglis Great Southern Sale as a weanling for $9,000.
Buyers can look forward to securing some of the first progeny from freshman sires All Too Hard, Americain, Excelebration, Your Song, Bullet Train, Delago Deluxe, Dalakhani, Harbour Watch and Ocean Park.
Proven sires represented in the weanling section include Fastnet Rock, Medaglia d’Oro, Snitzel, Exceed And Excel, Sebring, High Chaparral, Choisir, Bel Esprit, Al Maher, Written Tycoon and Commands.
Vendors have also thrown their support behind the Broodmare Sale and some of Victoria’s most sought-after families will be offered with many in foal to hot stallions Pierro, Foxwedge, Choisir, Starspangledbanner, Bel Esprit, Written Tycoon, Denman and Master Of Design.
Buyers will have the opportunity to purchase mares covered in the first seasons of Shamus Award, Sizzling, Fiorente, Declaration Of War, Dawn Approach, Eurozone, Akeed Mofeed, War, Kuroshio and Fighting Sun.
