Conducted annually since 1917, the Inglis Easter yearling sale is the pinnacle of thoroughbred sales in the southern hemisphere and the 2014 catalogue is now online.

“From start to finish the quality available at Easter is second to none,” Inglis director Jonathan D’Arcy said.  “From sale toppers like All Too Hard to exceptional types in Session 2 like Cox Plate winner Shamus Award, there are first class racehorses to suit a wide range of budgets.”

Easter graduates have the greatest runners-to-stakes winners ratio by far and off the track they continue to shape the next generation of champions.

All the leading proven sires are heavily represented in 2014 topped by Fastnet Rock (55 lots), More Than Ready (41), Redoute’s Choice (36), High Chaparral (33), Northern Meteor (27), Exceed And Excel (26) and Lonhro (25).

Group 1 winning mares with progeny catalogued include Faint Perfume, Gold Edition, Makybe Diva, Rostova, River Dove, Typhoon Tracy, Absolut Glam, Alverta, Boundless and Eskimo Queen.

There are siblings Group 1 winners such as So You Think, Starspangledbanner, Overreach, Igugu, Sepoy, Jimmy Choux, Zoustar, Makybe Diva and Able Friend.

Australian Group 1 winners purchased for $300,000 or less from Easter in recent years include Shamus Award, Headway, Irish Lights, Response, Dariana, Rock Classic, Absolutely, Anacheeva, Mosheen, Zabeelionaire, Fat Al and Samaready.

A total of 550 colts and fillies will be offered on April 8, 9 & 10 at the Inglis Newmarket sales complex in Sydney.
