Inglis catalogues 406 foals for Great Southern Sale

Catalogues are now available for the Inglis Great Southern Sale at Oaklands in Melbourne from May 22 to 25.

The Great Southern weanling sessions will be held on May 22 & 23 with 406 foals catalogued.  The Great Southern bloodstock sale will be staged on May 24 & 25 and includes 314 broodmares and another 89 lots comprising stallions, yearlings, racehorses and unbroken stock.

The weanling section of the sale is building an excellent reputation for value for pin-hookers.  Graduates include 2011 G2 Sandown Guineas winner So Swift ($7,500) and G1 winning filly Yosei ($15,000).

Pin-hookers made some great gains at the 2012 Inglis Melbourne Premier yearling sale with stock purchased at last year’s Great Southern weanling sale.   A Rock Of Gibraltar – Lady’s Light filly increased in value from $55,000 to $110,000.  And a $27,000 War Pass – My Chiquita colt jumped to $105,000.

This year’s catalogue of weanlings include the progeny of top stallions Bel Esprit, Domesday, Exceed And Excel, Fastnet Rock, Flying Spur, Hussonet, Lonhro, Reset, Snitzel, Statue Of Liberty, Stratum, Street Cry, Testa Rossa and Written Tycoon.

First season sires include G1 winners All American, Amadeus Wolf, Bushranger, Denman, Duporth, Manhattan Rain, Nicconi, Onemorenomore, Turffontein and Wanted.
