In Lingerie has joined the elite list of Group 1mares being lined up for Juddmonte champion Frankel at Banstead Manor Stud in 2013.

In Lingerie (Empire Maker – Cat Chat by Storm Cat) has been retired after an 8 start career that included victories in the G1 Spinster Stakes at Keeneland plus the G2 Black-Eyed Susan Stakes and G3 Bourbonette Oaks.

“It’s difficult to let go of such a phenomenal racehorse capable of headlining major races in coming seasons,” owners Aron Wellman and Gary Barber said.  “But when the opportunity to breed to Frankel became a reality, the decision was a no-brainer.

“It was a true privilege to be able to campaign In Lingerie.  She is a magnificent filly and took us to the top of the mountain from coast to coast.

“In Lingerie is by a Juddmonte colour-bearer in Empire Maker and won the Group 1 Spinster when it was sponsored by Juddmonte.  We are honoured and thankful to Juddmonte for this opportunity and we look forward to following the offspring of Frankel and In Lingerie.”

Frankel will start serving a select first book of 130 mares at a fee of 125,000 pounds in February.  The cast of Group 1 mares includes Midday, Danedream, Alexander Goldrun, Zagora, Vodka, Oatsee, Binche, Heat Haze and Clepsydra.
