Iglesia tops Magic Millions sires’ premiership

Former Oaklands Stud stallion Iglesia has topped the list of wins with Magic Millions graduates for the 2009-10 season.  The deceased son of Last Tycoon had sired the winners of 118 races when the season wrapped up on Saturday.

Iglesia’s Group 3 BRC Gunsynd Classic winner Sanderson, who cost a mere $3,000, highlighted his list of winners.  Sanderson was bred by Oaklands Stud owner Neville Stewart.

Sharing second place on the leader board were General Nediym and Sequalo with 101 victories each.

General Nediym’s leaders were Military Rose (Magic Millions 2YO Classic) and So Anyway (LR Scone Dark Jewel Classic).  Sequalo’s highlight performers included Burdekin Blues (G2 STC Expressway Stakes) and Spirit of Boom (LR GCTC Ken Russell Memorial).

Glenlogan Park sire Jet Spur (19) edged out Hidden Dragon (18) for most wins among the first season sires.  Stratum was next (13) ahead of Ferocity (8) and Bradbury’s Luck (7).
