Iffraaj filly tops Day 2 at Italian yearling sale

Saturday’s second session of the Italian September yearling sale in Milan was a low-key affair compared to Day 1 when Sheikh Mohammed paid 190,000 euros (AUD 267,015) for a Dubawi colt.

Agent Con Marnane purchased the Saturday session topper when he parted with 38,000 euros (AUD 53,405) for an Iffraaj half-sister to stakes performer Going For Gold (Gold Away).

A Dubai Destination colt from the family of G1 Irish Derby runner-up Glyndebourne (Sadler’s Wells) was next best at 36,000 euros (AUD 50,590).

The Saturday average of 21,576 (AUD 30,320) represented an increase of 16% on last year.
