Darley sire Henny Hughes has been sold to stand at Rangeview Stud in Western Australia.
Henny Hughes (USA) was a G2 winner of the Saratoga Special Stakes at two and the G1 Vosburgh Stakes and G1 King’s Bishop Stakes as a three year-old in 2006 when he was rated World’s Champion Sprinter.
Retired to stud in the USA in 2007 and Australia in 2008, he has sired 111 winner of 205 races at a 61% strike-rate. There have been 16 stakes performers among that total.
“Henny Hughes is the most accomplished sprinter to ever stand in Western Australia,” Rangeview Stud’s Robbie Gray said. “He’s already doing a great job at stud, getting winners all over the world and he’s only nine years-old!
“He’s an ideal outcross for Danehill – Danzig mares and we can’t wait for his flight to touch down in Perth and see him in the flesh.”
Henny Hughes (Hennessy) is a magnificent chestnut and his first-crop two year-olds have already made a mark in Australia. There have been 7 winners to date headed by Lil Red Corvette who was stakes placed in the LR Maribyrnong Trial at Flemington.
Rangeview will stand Henny Hughes for a $7,700 (inc gst) fee alongside Key Business (Success Express) and So Secret (Danetime).
