Helmet tops TBV Stallion Nominations’ Auction

Helmet topped the Thoroughbred Breeders Victoria (TBV) Stallion Nominations’ Auction held at Oaklands Junction on Friday.

Yu Long Investments paid $25,000 for a service to the Darley sire who has his initial crop of Victorian bred two year-olds ready to race this season.

Helmet also shuttles to Darley’s Dalham Hall in Newmarket and his first English bred yearling to go under the hammer made 120,000 euros (AUD 182,525) at the Arqana Sale in Deauville earlier this week.

Services were also offered to Written Tycoon by Woodside Park Stud, Toorak Toff (Rosemont Stud), Stryker (Three Bridges Thoroughbreds), Puissance de Lune (Swettenham Stud), Statue Of Liberty (Eliza Park International) and Hampton Court (Spendthrift Farm).

Collectively, these sales raised $76,000 with all proceeds going toward the promotion of Victorian thoroughbred breeding.  “Thoroughbred Breeders Victoria is very thankful to each of the seven stallion farms for their generous donations of service fees,” TBV Executive Officer Patrick Clancy said.  “The funds raised will be important to market and promote the Victorian breeding industry and help increase returns to Victorian breeders.”
