Group 1 fillies on track for Myboycharlie

Group 1 Beverly D. Stakes winner Euro Charline upped her work schedule at Newmarket on the weekend in readiness for the G1 Dubai Turf at Meydan on March 28.

The daughter of Vinery sire Myboycharlie galloped over 1300 metres on her home track and everything went as planned according to trainer Marco Botti.  “She always works well and showed the same attitude from last year.  She will have another racecourse gallop or two as there’s not a suitable prep race for her here.

Botti said the Winter Derby (2000m) at Lingfield comes too close to the Dubai World Cup meeting and the Lady Wulfruna Stakes (1400m) at Wolverhampton isn’t an ideal distance.

“Euro Charline will probably go to Chelmsford City for a gallop because it’s a left-handed track like Meydan,” Botti explained.  “She was probably one of the best fillies in Europe last year and if she improves again will be right up there with the very best of them.

“She has always been tall and I don’t think she has grown up, but she has definitely filled out in the neck and is stronger than last year for sure.”

Botti noted future targets for the four-year-old could include Royal Ascot where options include the G2 Duke of Cambridge Stakes against her own sex or the G1 Queen Anne Stakes versus males.

Myboycharlie’s Australian Group 1 filly Peggy Jean also resumes in the G2 Light Fingers Stakes (1200m) at Randwick this Saturday.  The star-studded field includes fillies by Vinery sires Mossman (Mossfun) and Onemorenomore (Onemorezeta).
