Group 1 brief for The Barrister

The Inglis VOBIS Gold Yearling Sale has received numerous updates since the catalogue went to print with a highlight being the brother to last Saturday’s Randwick stakes winner The Barrister.

Bred in Victoria by Barree Stud, he had won the $100,000 Mornington Sires Produce Stakes (1500m) last month before trainer Jason Warren sent him to Sydney for a successful raid on the LR Fernhill Hcp (1600m).

The Barrister (2c Star Witness – Strikeline by Desert Sun) can give his family another boost this Saturday in the G1 Champagne Stakes (1600m) on the final day of The Championships.  “Once he got into a nice rhythm, he ran the mile out well,” Warren said after the Fernhill.  “He’s really improved so we decided to have a throw at the big stumps this weekend!”

His younger brother has been catalogued as Lot 313 by Golden Grove (as agent) and will be one of the last to parade at the Inglis VOBIS Gold Yearling Sale.

With over $19 million in prize-money and bonuses on offer across Super VOBIS and VOBIS Gold, there is no better opportunity for owners to get involved than by purchasing a yearling at the Inglis VOBIS Gold Yearling Sale this Sunday and Monday, April 19 and 20.

Other updates among the 362 Lots on offer at Oaklands Junction include:

Lot 53  Blue Gum Farm / Stryker x Croisette colt – Half-brother to Macau winner Hong Kong Pearl.

Lot 66  Spring Valley Farm / Host x Easy Virtue colt – From a half-sister to the dam of G3 ATC Carbine Club Stakes winner Hi World.
