Grey mare homes in on black-type

Arinosa looked right at home when she faced black-type company for the first time in the LR Wenona Girl Quality (1200m).

The grey mare is one of 8 stakes winners by Dash For Cash.  The Swettenham Stud stallion has an overall record of 264 winners at a 61% strike-rate.

Arinosa (5m Dash For Cash – Amoroso by Revoque) was back in action after a feature victory in the TCL Greys Plate during the Melbourne Cup carnival.  Set alight by Brenton Avdulla at Warwick Farm on Saturday, she had field covered at the furlong to score by a length from Choice Words (Choisir) and Ladys Angel (Arena).

“I didn’t expect her to win first-up,” trainer Chris Waller admitted.  “She keeps stepping up and the G2 Emancipation Stakes looks a nice race for her at Randwick next month.”

Victorian owners David and Lynley Puglisi sent Arinosa to Waller after she had won at Seymour twice in 12 starts while based at Flemington.  Swettenham Stud sold Arinosa for $32,500 at the 2009 Inglis Melbourne Premier yearling and she has since banked over $290,000.

Swettenham owner Adam Sangster and Lindsay Park raced her dam Amoroso to wins at Cheltenham (2) and Sandown.  Her yearling colt by Dash for Cash was withdrawn from this month’s Melbourne Premier Sale.
