Wattle Brae Stud resident Exceedingly Good sired his first winner at the Sunshine Coast on Friday.
Hallside Rose (2f Exceedingly Good – Nicole by Bureaucracy) made the breakthrough with an all-the-way victory in the Sky Racing QTIS 2YO Hcp (1200m). She was starting for just the second time at the Sunshine Coast and it was her first run back from a spell.
The Dennis Heinemann trained filly won by two lengths from Eastern Prince (Dubawi) and Minsky’s Girl (More Than Ready). She had previously finished a credible fourth on debut at Doomben in February.
Hallside Rose’s dam Nicole won at Rosehill and is a sister to the dam of Hong Kong Horse of the Year in Silent Witness (El Moxie).
Exceedingly Good (Exceed and Excel) has only had six starters to date after covering a very small book of mares in his first season. He joined the Wattle Brae roster last year after a prior stint at Secret Hills Farm in Beaudesert
One of the most precocious juveniles of his generation, Exceedingly Good won the LR Maribyrnong Trial and G3 Maribyrnong Plate at Flemington. He raced in the colours made famous at headquarters by Makybe Diva.
His sire Exceed And Excel currently heads the Australian sires’ premiership with earnings of $10.02 million. His 16th stakes winner in Australia this season arrived on Saturday when Aerobatics claimed the LR Darley Crown at Hawkesbury.
Exceedingly Good stood for a $4,400 (inc gst) fee at Wattle Brae last year.
