Good Baby captures second Group 1

Good Baby added another Group 1 to the Swettenham Stud honour-roll in the Selangor Gold Cup (1600m) on Sunday.

Good Baby (5g Hussonet – Secret Haze by Danehill) led home a trifecta for trainer Kevin Coetzee and the Golden Knight Stable ahead of the Lonhro gallopers Good Sight and Good Judgement.

Bred and reared at Swettenham’s Nagambie nursery, Good Baby had already claimed a Malaysian domestic Group 1 in the 2012 Sultan Gold Vase at Perak.  He also collected a Group 3 in the 2011 Magic Millions Classic at Penang.

Good Baby (6g Hussonet – Secret Haze by Danehill) was part of Swettenham’s draft at the 2008 Magic Millions National Foal Sale when he made $110,000.  His record now stands at 9 wins in 23 starts for prizemoney the equivalent of AUD 450,195.

His dam Secret Haze won five races in Melbourne and Adelaide.  Second dam Cajun Magic (Twig Moss) is a half-sister to Swettenham’s 1987 Golden Slipper winner Marauding (Sir Tristram).

Good Baby was educated by Perth trainer Joe Byrne before transferring to Coetzee.  Secret Haze has a yearling filly by Excellent Art and she is in foal to Lincoln Farm shuttler Ready’s Image.
