Globetrotter Le Glorieux dies in France

Le Glorieux has died at Haras du Logis Saint-Germain in France aged 27.  In March 1988, Le Glorieux arrived in Australia for the G1 Tancred Stakes at Rosehill but was beaten more than 8 lengths by Beau Zam.

Earlier in his career, Le Glorieux was a Group 1 winner at Dusseldorf and Cologne before travelled to North America where he finished second to Theatrical in the Man o’ War Stakes before beating Great Communicator in the Washington International.

Le Glorieux (Cure The Blues) made it three Group 1 wins on three continents for 1987 by beating Triptych and Moon Madness to land the Japan Cup.

After the trip to Australia, owner Werner Wolf retired Le Glorieux to Haras du Mezeray but the globetrotter was unable to sire a Group 1 winner of his own.  His best performer has been German G2 winner Up And Away.
