Geisel Park dispersal at Magic Millions

Geisel Park Stud is to completely disperse its stock at an auction to be hosted by Magic Millions.

A venue for the sale is yet to be announced, but 70 lots – breeding stock and yearlings – will go under the hammer on Sunday, September 7.

The Western Australia breeding operation was stablished in 1846 as Myalup Farm, the property was taken over and renamed by Eddie Rigg in 2007.

“My horse racing interests started as a hobby but over the past 10 years has grown to be a sizeable operation,” Rigg said.  “To keep at the forefront of the industry at this size of farm, you need to be hands on, have commercial stallions and have the right people and staff involved.  Unfortunately, I don’t have the time to commit to the horse operation and have not been able to source the right type of stallion.

“Geisel Park has a cracking band of broodmares and has produced its most winners ever over the past six months. W ith the tremendous incentives offered by Westspeed, this represents the ideal time to securing quality Western Australia-bred horses.

“I will be keeping my racing interests and am looking forward to having fun and attending the races in the future.”
