Foxwedge foundation sire at Newgate Farm

Foxwedge will stand his first season for a $33,000 service fee at Newgate Farm this year.  He is currently preparing for the G1 King’s Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot.

A precocious two year-old with an electric turn of foot, Foxwedge trained on at three and was a brilliant weight-for-age winner of the G1 William Reid Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley earlier this year defeating Hay List and Buffering.

Foxwedge (Fastnet Rock – Forest Native by Forest Wildcat) also won a Group 2 (Roman Consul Stakes) and a Group 3 (San Domenico Stakes) closer to home in Sydney.

An outstanding type from the day he was born, Foxwedge made $925,000 as an Inglis Easter yearling.  He stands 16 hands and, like the best of the Danehill line, personifies the qualities of constitution, toughness, temperament and soundness.

Danehill’s honour-roll of his G1 sire sons that won up to 1200m in Australia is as follows – Redoute’s Choice, Flying Spur, Exceed and Excel, Catbird, Danzero and Fastnet Rock.

Foxwedge is the highest rated son of Fastnet Rock and he is the foundation sire at Newgate Farm.  The new Scone based stud sold its first million dollar yearling at the Inglis Easter Sale last month.
