Four winners for Waikato sires at Moonee Valley

Black Caviar was the star of Moonee Valley’s Australia Stakes meeting but NZ based Waikato Stud weighed in with four winners on Friday night.

Waikato Stud based Pins and O’Reilly combined for a treble and the stud’s former champion sire Centaine was also among the winners with Centexpress in the Essendon Mazda 55 Challenge Hcp.

Pins sired the very promising Flemington winner Infuse last Saturday.  The Lloyd Williams owned gelding is from the immediate family of G1 Salinger Stakes winner Glamour Puss.  Her Pins colt (Lot 216) will be a highlight of Waikato Stud’s draft at the NZB Premier Sale at Karaka next week.

Pins was back in action with Moonee Valley winner Zippa The Rippa on Friday.  She is a daughter of Pernod, a Centaine mare who won the G1 MRC Invitation Stakes at Caulfield.

O’Reilly chimed in with a winning double at Moonee Valley.  Rollerball opened proceedings and promising mare Power O’Raylee continued her winning streak in the Carlyon Classic (2040m).

Power O’Raylee (4m O’Reilly – La Banca by Grosvenor) has now won five in a row starting with a Mornington maiden and she followed up with victories at Caulfield, Sandown and Flemington before the Carlyon Classic.

She is a stablemate of Black Caviar and is trained by Peter Moody for Power Racing Stables.  Agent John Foote bought her from Grange Farm for $95,000 which was the top priced lot at NZB’s 2009 South Island 2YO Sale.

O’Reilly has 68 yearlings at the 2012 NZB National Yearling Sales Series with 57 in the Premier Sale.
