Flying start by Sakhee’s Secret

Sakhee’s Secret is off to a flying start in the northern hemisphere.  The Oaks Stud stallion is the joint leader on the UK-Ireland first season premiership alongside Galileo stallion Sixties Icon.

Sakhee’s Secret (Sakhee) sired his sixth individual winner when Arthurs Secret bolted in by eight lengths on debut at Beverley last Tuesday.  The John Quinn-trained colt completed a magic month for the Kiwi shuttler – the first of his half-dozen winners only arrived back on May 25.

Arthurs Secret (2c Sakhee´s Secret – Angry Bark by Woodman) will appreciate better going than the soft surface he found at Beverley.  “He coped nicely with the ground but it was his ability that won it,” Quinn suggested.  “He’s a fine horse with a great mind.  We’ve been sitting on him for a bit and won’t overdo it this year.”

Sakhee’s Secret shuttles from Whitsbury Manor Stud to The Oaks.  A member of the Riverman sireline, he earned a Timeform rating of 128 after an emphatic Group 1 victory in the 2007 Newmarket July Cup.  That ranked him above Miss Andretti (127) and Takeover Target (126).

His is an all-speed family which includes Stravinsky – another July Cup champion and now well established as a top international sire.

Sakhee’s Secret stands for a $12,000 fee in New Zealand and his first Kiwi bred yearlings will be offered for sale at the 2013 Karaka Sale.
