Flag-bearer wins for Scopaciri

Flag Of Command scored the first win for WA based stallion Scopaciri in Singapore on Sunday.

Scopaciri won seven sprints in Perth and he stands with trainer Peter Giadresco in the State’s south-west at Gelorup.

Flag Of Command (2g Scopaciri – Dauwin by Dauberval) crossed from a wide barrier on debut and made all the running to score a two-length victory in the Hello Argentina Stakes (1200m) at Kranji.  The youngster paid $44 on the WA TAB.

“He did show some speed in his trials but I didn’t think he had a chance from that gate,” trainer Mok Zhan Lun said.  “I just told the jockey to try and educate him, but he jumped and ran and, to my surprise, just kept going.  He’s still green and was going all over the shop in the last bit but still won well.”

Flag Of Command had won a Lark Hill trial in January as Scopawin.  Kim Stable bought him off Giadresco and his name was changed after being exported in April.

Flag Of Command’s dam Dauwin won five races for Giadresco and she has a yearling colt by Scopaciri and a filly foal by Chance in Time.

Chance in Time is closely related to the WA bred G1 winners Machine Gun Tom (Railway Stakes) and Rogan Josh (Melbourne Cup).

Scopaciri (Vain Rancher) and Chance in Time (Danetime) both stand for a $3,300 (inc gst) service fee.  Peter Giadresco can be contacted for further info on (08) 9795 9609 or 0417 961323.
