Crown Valley Lodge sire Helene Mascot (Ire) moved off the mark with his first winner at Grafton on Wednesday.
His 4yo mare Behest did best after a front-running duel with Time To Rock (Fastnet Rock) to nail the Gillespie Plumbing Hcp (1700m) by a short-head.
Behest (4m Helene Mascot – Beheshta by Brief Truce) commenced her career in Victoria before transferring to owner-trainer Paul Matts at Coffs Harbour. Her dam won over 2000 metres at Maisons-Laffitte and her Australian progeny includes LR Mornington Cup winner Berisha (Al Samer).
Victorian breeder Dennis Stogryn imported Helene Mascot to stand at Avenel following a career that garnered Listed wins in England and Group 1 triumphs in the Hong Kong Classic Mile and Hong Kong Derby.
Helene Mascot is a son of Arc de Triomphe winner Peintre Celebre from stakes-placed mare Razana (Kahyasi). He stands at Crown Valley Lodge for a negotiable $5,000 service fee. Stogryn can be contacted for further details on 03 9728 1888
