First winner by Supreme Class

Redoute’s Choice freshman Supreme Class sired his first winner with his first starter at Corowa on Sunday.

Supreme Lyne (2f Supreme Class – Brisk Lynn by Sir Laurence) bolted in five lengths on debut in the Winery Walkabout Maiden (900m).  Darley sire Shaft filled out the minors with Schiehallion and Our True Matriarch.

The winner and third placegetter are both trained at Wagga by Trevor Sutherland.

After Supreme Lyne, her dam Brisk Lynn foaled another filly by Supreme Class and her latest is a colt at foot by Bowness Stud sire Bon Hoffa.

Supreme Class (Redoute’s Choice) was a $90,000 buy for Lee Freedman at the 2004 Gold Coast Magic Millions.  After winning a Cranbourne trial as a winter two year-old, he was sent to Hong Kong and raced there under the name Roberto’s Choice.

A winner of five sprints including the Chevalier Cup at Sha Tin, he was also fourth home in the G1 Hong Kong Classic Mile in 2007.

His dam Lanadee later foaled Melbourne Listed winner Secret Flyer (Secret Savings).  The mare is a half sister to G3 Emancipation Stakes winner Almazyoon and Darley shuttler Hard Spun is further back in the family.

Supreme Class is based at Toomorrow’s Farm at Nana Glen which is a 20 minute drive inland from Coffs Harbour.  “We’re in Russell Crowe territory,” studmaster Mick O’Neill said.  “Supreme Class is a lovely horse and he covered around two dozen mares this season – we even had a Queensland breeder send down four mares after Xmas.”

Supreme Class stands for a $2,200 (inc gst) fee alongside Frisco View (Mt. Livermore) and Bulleton (Rubiton).  O’Neill can be contacted for further details on 0428 544 216.
