First winner by Chatline

Widely-travelled stallion Chatline moved off the mark when his colt Leave A Message scored a first-up win on Saturday.

Leave A Message (3c Chatline – Kuloomba Queen by Sports Works) won the Holdfast Insurance Hcp (1000m) at Pioneer Park in the Red Centre.  He was resuming after a 30 week spell for part-owner and trainer Greg Connor.

Leave A Message is from Chatline’s second-crop – there was only one live foal in his first.

Chatline won five races in NSW and Victoria before retiring to Apparel Lodge at Creswick in 2005.  He didn’t cover any mares that year and, after a stint in the Hunter Valley another two years in limbo, he returned to Carin Park in Victoria where he served 57 mares between 2009 and 2011.

Chatline (Royal Academy) is a half-brother to Snippets (Lunchtime) and the dams of Not A Single Doubt (Redoute’s Choice) and Zizou (Fusaichi Pegasus).

He transferred to Chris Martin’s Boallia Park in Western Australia last year for a $2,750 (inc gst) service fee.
