The first Swettenham Stud bred foals by Equiano are on the ground at Adam Sangster’s Nagambie nursery.
The Equiano filly is from Plus Jamais. The dam is a Redoute’s Choice daughter of Saratoga G1 mare Nevermore (Unbridled).
The second Equiano filly is out of Anna Dana (Chester House) who was stakes placed in Kentucky. Her dam is a half-sister to Street Cry and the dam of Shamardal.
Swettenham sold a yearling colt by resident sire Kaphero from Anna Dana for $110,000 at the 2012 Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale. He was purchased by Cranbourne trainer Ken Keys.
Equiano (Fr) has arrived at Swettenham for his second southern book and will stand for an ‘early-bird’ fee of $13,000 (inc gst). He is a son of emerging sire of sires Acclamation and was a dual winner of the G1 King’s Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot.
Equiano and his first foals will be on show at the Swettenham Stud stallion parade this Sunday, August 26.
