First southern foal by Toronado

Swettenham Stud in conjunction with Qatar’s Al Shaqab Racing are delighted to announce the arrival of the first southern foal by Toronado (Ire).

The bay filly is out of the Flemington 2yo placegetter Riverina Red (Testa Rossa).  Owned by Swettenham client John Connellan, she is strong and well put-together – a very good effort for the mare’s first foal.

On the back of his exciting and impressive first crop foals in Europe, Swettenham is eagerly awaiting more of his foals in the Southern Hemisphere where he can expect about 150 foals to arrive.

Toronado (High Chaparral) heads the Swettenham Stud stallion roster again this season and has arrived in magnificent condition.  Breeders are once again putting their faith in the World Champion Miler with solid bookings at the same $22,000 (inc gst) service fee as last year.

Swettenham remains very honoured to be standing Toronado and looks forward to a continuing relationship with Al Shaqab Racing.  Contact Swettenham’s Nominations Manager Rachel Spriggins for further information on 0439 101 195.
