First O’Lonhro yearlings at Melbourne Premier

Larneuk Stud’s Neville Murdoch has been looking forward to the Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale for months – excited at the opportunity to show off the first O’Lonhro yearlings.

“They have the same good looks, strength, presence and laid-back attitude of their sire,” Murdoch said.  “And there is a lot of Lonhro about them too – and that can only be a good thing!”

Seven members of the first O’Lonhro crop will go under the hammer at the Inglis Melbourne Premier starting on March 3 and each hail from excellent families.

Lot 410:  Filly ex Grand Manners (Grand Lodge): Dam has produced four winners from five foals including the G3 placed multiple city winner Lalla Rookh.  Bred on the very successful Lonhro-Danzig cross that has produced 14 stakes winners including Group 1 mare Benfica.

Lot 442:  Colt ex Invisible Quest (Intikhab):   Half-brother to the lightly raced winner Emperor’s Banquet out of an imported half-sister to the French G1 winner Kinnaird and the UK G3 winner Mickdaam.

Lot 590:  Filly ex Rapid Sensation (Success Express):  First foal of a talented racemare from the family of G1 The Galaxy winner Salaam and the tough G2 winner Master Harry.

Lot 634:  Colt ex Zero And Over (Danzero):   Dam is a half-sister to the talented Down Under Boy from a terrific black type family whose members include Northeast Sheila, Jacqueline Rouge, Kablammo, Dashing Granada and Celebrity Girl.

Lot 653:  Colt ex Bent Zena (Rancho Ruler):  Boasting three crosses of the legendary Star Kingdom, he is out of a mare doing a great job at stud – her first two foals both being multiple city winners; Good Woods in Hong Kong and Ben Zena in Melbourne.

Lot 674:  Colt ex Cross Town (Ne Coupez Pas):   Bred on a 6 X 3 cross of the great Nureyev, he is out of a half-sister to the stakes winner Lady Elsie from the immediate family of Kingston Town.

Lot 752:  Colt ex Noveliste (Runyon):   Bred on the same Lonhro-Sadler’s Wells cross as Golden Slipper champion Pierro, he is a half-brother to the stakes placed Tis Folly from the family of Sadler’s Wells.

Larneuk Stud’s yearlings are stabled in Barn G at Oaklands Junction.
