August 1 signals the start of the foaling season and Mungrup Stud’s Claire Dawson welcomed a Playing God filly first-up in the early hours on Monday.
Playing God (Blackfriars) was a dual winner of the G1 Kingston Town Classic at Ascot and his first foal this season is a filly from Viello (Oratorio).
Viello is owned by Mungrup’s Williamson family in partnership with Lex & Shirley Piper and she is a winning half-sister to Vampi Lass (G3 La Trice Classic). Her first two foals are a new-season 2yo colt by Hala Bek and a yearling filly by Dick Turpin.
Playing God will stand his third season at Mungrup Stud this year for a $4,400 (inc gst) service fee alongside Oratorio ($11,000), Dick Turpin ($8,800) and Danehill Express ($4,400).
