First foal by Red Element at Glenlogan Park

Red Element’s first foal arrived at Glenlogan Park in the early hours of Friday morning.

A colt from the Redoute’s Choice mare Belle Soleil, he is described by studmaster Steve Morley as big, strong and robust.

Morley admitted that studs invariably wax lyrical about any stallion’s first crop foals.  “That’s the nature of the business,” he said in a press release on Friday.  “However, if any farm can find a better specimen on Day 1 than this fellow, well we will be stunned!  No question – this colt is class with a capital C.”

Red Element is a son of Red Ransom and is a brother to Horse of the Year Typhoon Tracy.   He was a Listed winner of the Creswick Stakes at Flemington and BMW Stakes at Caulfield among 5 victories from just 17 starts.

He covered 135 mares in his initial season including the dams of Ike’s Dream, Dysphonia, Conservatorium as well as G1 winner Danendri.

Red Element will stand for an $8,800 (inc gst) service fee this year.
