First foal by Pour Moi at Newmarket

The first foal by Pour Moi arrived at Blue Diamond South in Newmarket on Wednesday.

Pour Moi is back at Coolmore Stud’s Irish headquarters after covering his initial southern book at Windsor Park Stud in NZ.

Pour Moi’s first foal is out of the Giant’s Causeway mare Island Dreams who was purchased for 190,000 guineas by agent Tony Nerses at the Tattersalls December sale.  “He’s a correct, quality foal,” Nerses said.  “We’re very happy with him.”

A son of Montjeu, Pour Moi won three races in five starts highlighted by the 2011 English Derby.  He was among the favourites for that year’s Arc de Triomphe until suffering a career-ending near-foreleg injury.

Pour Moi is bred on the hugely successful Sadler’s Wells – Darshaan cross responsible for fellow English Derby winner High Chaparral who sired So You Think, Shoot Out, Monaco Consul and Descarado while in residence at Windsor Park.
