First English mare in foal to Foxwedge

Foxwedge has his first northern hemisphere mare scanned in foal at Whitsbury Manor Stud

His first cover Lomapamar returned a PPT to the G1 winning son of Fastnet Rock.  She is a Nashwan half-sister to Luca Cumani’s G2 Royal Lodge Stakes winner Mons.

Foxwedge was a G1 winner of the MVRC William Reid Stakes and was narrowly denied by Sepoy in the G1 Coolmore Stud Stakes.

“The fertility wasn’t a worry because he had a full book of around 150 mares scanned in foal at Newgate Farm in Australia,” Whitsbury Manor’s Ed Harper said.  “We’ve been thrilled by the response he’s had from European breeders and he’s started the covering season very professionally.”

Foxwedge stands alongside Sakhee’s Secret at Hampshire based Whitsbury Manor.  The NZ shuttler was Europe’s leading first-season sire in the winners’ category last year.
