First Australian winner by Purge

Purge claimed his first Australian winner when USA bred colt Spiritof Endeavour scored a two length victory at Balaklava on Wednesday.

Spiritof Endeavour (3c Purge – Well Hidden by More Than Ready) won the Community Caterers Hcp (1400m) by two lengths for a syndicate that includes his breeder Kerry O’Brien.  He arrived here as a foal in April 2010 with his dam Well Hidden who was a Listed winner of the Island Fashion Stakes at Sunland Park.

Purge (Pulpit) won the G2 Jim Dandy Stakes and G2 Peter Pan Stakes as a three year-old and reached a career high in 2005 with a G1 victory in the Cigar Mile at Aqueduct.

He originally stood at Vinery Florida before transferring to its New York base in 2011.  There have been 175 individual winners from his first four crops and they have arrived a 63% strike-rate.
