Champion sire-elect Fastnet Rock heads the 2012 Coolmore Australia line-up at a service fee of $220,000 (inc gst).
All 16 stallions on the roster were Group 1 winners and every stallion with three-year-old runners and above is a proven Group 1 sire in Australia.
Fastnet Rock started his career at $55,000 in 2005 and had risen to $132,000 last year before the emergence of G1 winners Atlantic Jewel, Foxwedge, Lone Rock, Mosheen, Planet Rock and Rock ‘N’ Pop demanded another increase.
Even with such a well-credentialed roster many of the fees have been reduced in an attempt to provide real value to breeders.
“We recognize breeders have endured a difficult few years and, with that in mind, we have reduced virtually all of our fees, bar Fastnet Rock,” Coolmore’s Tom Magnier stated. “He’s the hottest stallion for years, probably since Danehill. Our four new G1 winners reflect our commitment to quality, choice and value for breeders.”
Headlining the new sires for 2012 is So You Think and he will be joined by three G1 winning juveniles Uncle Mo, Musir and Zoffany.
