Fastfoot accelerates before Karaka Sale

Fastfoot’s timing was impeccable when swamping his rivals at Pukekura on Saturday.  The Iffraaj gelding is catalogued for the NZ Bloodstock Winter Sale at Karaka next Friday week, August 2.

The John Sargent trained galloper has been in top form this preparation winning two on end this month at Matamata and Pukekura.

Fastfoot (3g Iffraaj – Catch The Day by Keeper) showed an electric turn to overhaul Ashalini on a testing winter track.  “He has really stepped up in his last couple of starts,” Sargent said.  “He has the ability to handle the wetter ground which helps this time of year.”

Sargent said planning ahead is hard with a sale imminent.  “But there are more wins in store,” he declared.  “The horse has really matured and we are seeing the results now.”

Fastfoot is by the leading second season sire Iffraaj, who is enjoying a wealth of success as the sire of recently crowned Filly of the Year Series winner Fix.  Fastfoot is the only foal to race from his dam who is a half-sister to G2 MVRC Oaks winner Pure Harmony (Stravinsky).

Fastfoot has been catalogued as Lot 70 in the racehorse section of the upcoming Winter Mixed Bloodstock Sale.  Supplementary entries are still open for the sale until Friday, July 26.

A stallion parade will be held at 10am before the Sale starts on August 2 with the following on show at Karaka:
